Dewey LoSasso is the newly christened executive chef at the rejuvenated South Florida landmark, The Forge Restaurant | Wine Bar. LoSasso has been a mainstay in the culinary scene for more than 30 years, holding various executive posts, and even a stint as Donatella Versace’s personal chef. But it was not until LoSasso heard about The Forge Restaurant | Wine Bar’s global search for a new executive chef that he opted for a new challenge. Pared down to a finalist list of 8 world-class chefs, LoSasso proved the best after a personal, in-home tasting by Forge owner Shareef Malnik.

Watching and assisting his mother prepare traditional Sicilian Sunday suppers in their Long Island home is what initially inspired Harold Dieterle to become a chef. Dieterle has been a pillar in the restaurant scene for the last 10 years working at a variety of different spots, most notably the 1770 House, which garnered a two star review from The New York Times during his stint there. However, his list of accomplishments only begins there. In 2006, Dieterle competed and won the first season of Bravo’s “Top Chef.”

The Sazant family of the Sagamore Hotel in South Beach depends upon the love and support from each other to keep their business going strong. At the Sagamore Hotel, it’s a family affair. Jennifer Taplin Sazant and her husband, Neil Sazant, are involved in all aspects of the business.
We caught up with the dapper couple to get a glimpse into their typical day.

Brothers Daniel and Derek Koch are renowned as two of the most sought after tastemakers in New York’s dining and hospitality scene. Upon transplanting to New York City from their native mid-west, Derek and Daniel began their careers as models, but earned their first entrance into the hospitality industry working at Le Bilboquet, notorious for its signature, raucous parties. We recently caught up with entrepreneur Derek Koch to get a glimpse into his typical, and frantically busy, day and night.

Red carpet events are a religion to me. Of course, the mac daddy of them all goes to the Oscars. I began live-tweeting my hits and misses at 6:11 PM and didn’t stop until I actually fell asleep at 10:45 PM (by the way, in case you missed them: http://www.twitter.com/lbcfashion). I won’t waste your time with the misses, and only bring to you my biggest hits.

With New York Fashion Week, Fall 2011 wrapped up (still the European shows left), there are a few trends that stand out. Red. Green. Fur. Tweed. Wide-leg pants. Maxi skirts. As always, two of my favorite designers put on two of the most splendidly gorgeous shows, Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren

I had the pleasure of driving out to London Jewelers in Manhasset, and spending an ample amount of time touring the flagship store (Thank you Sherry Mesh!) and learning the ins and outs of the watch industry from watch expert, Zach Udell. That whole store is quite an “experience”–from the home goods section to the vintage Chanel pieces, and of course the plethora of watches.

New York Fashion Week has officially begun. There’s a certain buzz around this week. New Yorkers run around frantically (but with smiles on their faces); cup of coffee in one hand and Blackberry in the other, all the while attempting to snag cabs from fellow editors so they make it to the next show (across town) in time.

Haven Spa is nothing short of heavenly. Just before the craziness of New York Fashion Week began (and in celebration of almost closing Miami and New York Haute Living magazines for Feb/March) I indulged in a Chai Pedicure from one of my favorite under-the-radar spas.
