Miami Beach’s boutique Sagamore Hotel, which has hosted the Playboy Super Bowl party and celebrities like Kate Moss, took a trip to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court last week.

Sagamore Partners Ltd. said in an emailed statement that while its hotel is “profitable,” it filed for Chapter 11 protection in Miami in a bid to address difficulties with the special servicer of its mortgage. Special servicers are appointed to manage a loan when the borrower defaults.

Luxury-car sales are up this year amid Silicon Valley’s resurgent technology boom, but not all car brands are benefiting. Sales of certain upscale car brands in the Bay Area—including Porsche, Aston Martin and Lotus—rose strongly in the first six months of this year versus the same period a year ago, according to data from R.L. Polk & Co., which analyzes the auto industry. At the same time, Rolls-Royce and Lexus, among others, experienced weaker sales over the same period, according to the data.

LACMA announced today that CAA power agent and Hollywood head of state, Bryan Lourd, has been elected to LACMA’s Board of Trustees. According to LACMA’s official press release, these three newbies will bring the number of trustees to 64. 53 of them are voting members, and 11 are life trustees.

Landry’s Restaurants, Inc., has received bankruptcy court approval to buy actress Eva Longoria’s troubled Las Vegas steakhouse Beso. The $1 million deal, decided Monday, ensures that Longoria will continue to be involved in the restaurant, which is located in a high-profile spot in the Crystals shopping center, part of the MGM Resort International CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip. Beso LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January.

Talk Show host, host Ellen DeGeneres has revealed the price of her Beverly Hills estate in the Multiple Listing Service as $49 million. The property had been marketed since June on the Westside Estate Agency website simply as price “available upon request.”
