Described by design expert Diane Dorrans Saeks as “the most beautiful house in San Francisco,” 2840 Broadway closed escrow on August 4, 2011, after national speculation about potential buyers for the property.

Burglars Hit Waverly Inn
A robbery at Graydon Carter’s West Village celebrity-clubby eatery Waverly Inn left one employee injured after he was hit in the face with a bottle. According to police, two unidentified men broke into the restaurant at 16 Bank St. just after 5 a.m. on September 2. The assailants struck a 28-year-old male staffer in the face and then made off with bottles of tequila, whiskey and gin valued at $900. The unidentified employee was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. A rep confirmed the incident and told us the staff member is “OK.” The Waverly was scheduled to be open for dinner after the incident.
Hermès Unable to Meet Growing Demand for Scarves and Handbags
Hermès, one of the oldest luxury fashion houses from France is finding it difficult to meet the soaring demand for their high end (and high-priced) £500 silk scarves and £6,000 handbags. The company has declared a 50% jump in the profits for the first six months of the year. Its famed Kelly and Birkin handbags are witnessing unprecedented demand in the US and Japan.
Gorgeous Modern Residence in the Hollywood Hills
Amazingly, designers, XTEN Architecture, recreated this home from a 1960’s single family home. Located just below the iconic Hollywood sign, the residence’s architecture differentiates it from its neighbors. Its location in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles opens up the residence to extremely beautiful panoramic views. The sloping terrain was transformed into an opportunity to recreate the home design into a series of interconnected terraced spaces. The old foundation was kept in order to stick to the budget, but all the interiors were reconfigured.

L.A. real estate titan Sandy Gallin — who has made untold millions selling homes to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Mark Burnett and Kenny G — has been sued over a $16.5 million Beverly Hills mansion he sold to one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.
The man going after Gallin is Roger Birnbaum — the head of MGM Studios — who bought a Gallin home in 2007 … only to discover it was full of leaks.
