Kaye Holland

British journo, Kaye Holland, was born in Watford, a town labelled by Lonely Planet as “the kind of place that makes you want to travel.” They weren’t wrong. After a stint at the BBC, Kaye made her way to the Middle East where she worked at Time Out for three years, before heading to the Caribbean to help re-launch a lifestyle magazine. China came calling in 2010 and Kaye spent 18 months based in Beijing as Time Out’s Special Project Editor, before returning to London ahead of the Olympic Games. Kaye is now Haute Living’s London curator and also freelances for numerous lifestyle and travel titles, in addition to presenting a weekly hospital radio show. When she isn’t travelling, Kaye is interested in fashion, food, socialising and (for her sins) follows the footballing fortunes of her home team, Watford.

La Rêve, Café de Paris, Friday 26 August

As I descend Café de Paris’ sweeping, gilt staircase, my eyes and ears are immediately drawn to the stage where Ivy Paige – La Rêve’s corset clad ringleader – is entertaining the audience, with her sass and show stopping songs.

Cabaret Floridita

Wondering what to do on a Wednesday night? Wander to Wardour Street and be wowed by Cabaret Floridita, at the eponymous Cuban themed venue.

Box Clever

For the casual fan, football matches may seem like too much trouble. But from an executive box, it’s a far more beautiful game.

The reel deal

With the end of summer in sight, why not spend a balmy British night watching films in a stunning open air setting (as opposed to a stuffy cinema)?

Quaglino’s Cocktail Masterclass

Want to impress party guests with a couple of creative cocktails rather than a limp gin and tonic? Time to sign up for Quaglino’s Cocktail Club (held the third Thursday of every month), where you can learn cocktail knowledge from mixologist Branislav Ivanic.

Top Five Clubs in London

With pubs shut at 11pm, the capital’s clubs become one of London’s biggest draws. Whether you take your music seriously or just like to fling yourself around to Britney and Beyonce on a Friday night, you can rest safe in the knowledge that London is a clubber’s paradise. Here are five of the best in town…

London’s Maya medicine man

Tucked half way down King’s Road, next to Sir Terence Conran’s much loved Bluebird Café, the brand new Triyoga centre in Chelsea offers the same signature yoga and Pilates classes as the Soho and Primrose Hill centres (loved by Gwyneth Paltrow and pals), alongside some more unusual treatments.

A Night in Casablanca

Want a break from the usual London bars and clubs? Sign up A Night in Casablanca – brought to you by the Candlelight Club.

The Brompton Bar & Grill: London’s first Absinthe Bar

Much loved Knightsbridge bistro, The Brompton Bar and Grill, has recently launched London’s first absinthe establishment. Referred to as the ‘green fairy,’ absinthe was the drink du jour for 19th century geniuses like Oscar Wilde, Vincent Van Gogh and Ernest Hemmingway to name but a few, but was banned in much of Europe for causing madness and mayhem (ironically the very reason it is now enjoying a revival)!
