On April 17, LACMA held their 25th annual Collectors Committee event, in which a group of donors gathered to obtain exclusive artworks to be added to LACMA’s collection. Curators from each department provided short presentations and information on particular pieces they wanted to be added and as the 160-person committee arrived for the gala dinner, they took on the arduous task of selecting needed additions from an assortment of choices.

The Academy of American Poets hosted its 8th annual benefit titled, Poetry & The Creative Mind at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Several of America’s premier artists, scholars, and celebrities partook in the elegant evening as the event celebrated the role of contemporary poetry in American culture.

The Savannah College of Art and Design welcomed guests to their 5th Annual SCAD Style Etoile Awards in New York. Michael Douglas, Sara Ferguson, Duchess of York, and Diane Passage were among those in attendance who enjoyed an exclusive cocktail reception in the James Cohan Gallery.

Raphael House, the San Francisco organization focused on supporting homeless families, celebrated its annual gala this Saturday, April 17. It took place at the legendary Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco’s North Beach area and featured a “Speakeasy” theme.

On April 14, the W San Francisco hosted an intimate pre-Earth Day event including an exclusive performance by American Idol winner, Kris Allen. The celebration commemorated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day as Kris Allen led a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Lion, the newest restaurant in the West Village and co-owned by Dan Abrams and Dave Zinczenko, hosted the premiere event of Cinema Society’s Multiple Sarcasms. Appleton Estate Rum sponsored the exclusive event, which featured their signature cocktails: The Jamaican Breeze and the Old Jamaican, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres and meals prepared by the restaurant’s Executive Chef, John De Lucie.

The classy and chic department store provided guests with the opportunity to meet the designer as well as shop for trendy threads.
