Friday was a great day in L.A! What is better then going to get your hair cut by Chris McMillan in Beverly Hills with my friends Barry Gesser and Elizabeth Guber, then a chopped salad at La Scala?

On Saturday night, I headed to PRISM gallery on Sunset, where PC Valmorbida and Jared Najjar were hosting a new solo exhibit called “Inside Bleak” by the San Francisco-based artist Clare Rojas. The exhibit features what Rojas says are “domestic abstract interiors.” She uses various media like painting, installation art, and videos to express herself, and there was even a stage for performances that Rojas performed under the name “Honeywell.”

By far the nicest annual BBQ in L.A. is the Diller/von Furstenburg BBQ. It is always such a great day! The who’s who of Hollywood, along with their friends and families from all over the world come into town for the occasion. I had such a fabulous Saturday afternoon a their home.

On Friday, Larry Gagosian had a luncheon at his house, showing Richard Prince’s work. Fabiola Beracasa, Derek Blassberg, Barry Gesser, Aby Rosen, Tico Mugrabi, katie Robbins and Simon Ruben, Chris Bass, and Desiree Gruber were all there along with a bunch of different art collectors from all over the world.

Later that evening there was so many parties going on. Some people went to Ari Emanuel’s WME party in Brentwood; some to Bryan Lourd’s CAA party in Bel-Air; and some to Dennis Basso’s birthday party.

I love being in L.A. for Oscar Week! There are so many parties leading up to the actual awards show.

Last night, my first stop was to the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills for the Ed Ruscha exhibit. Guests there included Alex von Furstenberg, Drew Barrymore, Andre Balazs, Chelsea Handler, Bettina Zilkha, John Waters, Adrien Brody, Richard Prince, Oliver Zahm, Vera Wang…

On Saturday night, Paris Hilton had her 30th birthday party. Jason Pomeranc and I arrived at his hotel, the Roosevelt, where Jeff Beacher opened up Beacher’s Madhouse. She had a really cute video of her family and friends from when she was a kid. Then friends ate and mingled until the circus acts started. There were midgets, dancers, and cotton candy. Such a wild evening!

Last night, I happily made the trek up to 91st Street for the black tie opening dinner gala for the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s “Set In Style: the Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels” exhibition.

The event was held in the Arthur Ross Terrace & Garden of the famed Carnegie mansion. We were served a delicious five-course dinner by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

So many people were there including the president & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels for the Americas Nicolas Bos, the Associate Director of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum Carolyn Baumann, Cate Blanchett (who was wearing a Passe-partout necklace in yellow gold serpent chain with rubies and sapphires), Marisa Berenson, Kelly Rutherford (in Clelia earrings, necklace and ring), Piper Perabo (wearing Birds of Paradise earrings and the Volutes ring), Carolyn Murphy, Caroline Baumann, Vera Wang, Jason Wu, Lizzie and Jon Tisch, Waris Ahluwalia, Neville Wakefield, Olympia Scarry, Blake Lively, and Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mavinsky. Such an amazing crowd!

Who doesn’t love Dennis Basso?! Yesterday I went to his show with a quick stop at the Mercedes-Benz lounge with Alison Brod and Lizzie Tisch. I love his new collection…the dresses and furs were fabulous!

Lizzie Tisch, Ali Kay, Stacey Pashcow, Inga Rubenstein, Daniela Rich, Chris Mack, Jen Creel, Coralie Charriol, Tinsley Mortimer, the newly engaged Caroline Berthet, Marci Warren, Filipa Fino, and Meredith Burkle all came to watch the show.

Yesterday, Natasha Silver invited a bunch of us to Russell Simmons’ Valentine’s Day Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation charity luncheon at the Plaza Hotel. The foundations is dedicated to supporing arts education in New York public schools.

Mayor Bloomberg spoke, and Christine Mack, Flo Fulton, Stacey Griffith, Julie Macklowe, Lauren Bush, Stacey Pashcow, Avis Richards, Jennifer Creel, and Stewart “Rah Rah” Rahr were all there.
