On March 18, I was lucky to take part in the First Annual Celebrity Glam Squad “Hope for Haiti” Cocktail Gala that took place at the Player’s Exotic Car Rental which was ultimately transformed into a swanky Miami-inspired lounge. The night was filled with everything one could only hope for: cocktails, pastries, luxury cars and fashion. I made my way around trying each and every little morsel, deciding each one was better than the last.

There’s a new brunch in town. Beginning on Sunday, April, 10, The Restaurant at National Hotel will feature its new Sunday Brunch held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All the traditional brunch fixings will be available along with unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys.

On Sunday, April 10 Al and Nancy Malnik will be hosting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida annual Garden Party from 4:00pm to 6pm. The event will help promote the upcoming 17th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball, and is strictly invite only.

On Sunday, the Junior Opera Guild (JOG) held it’s annual fashion show, themed as “An Afternoon in Venice” at the Riviera Country Club in lovely Coral Cables. The afternoon began with some mingling and champagne as the DJ spun, with many gathered around the silent auction items that included everything from a Coach wallet, D. Rodriquez Cuba Restaurant Certificate and a Day Sail for Four with Gourmet Lunch on Biscayne Bay.

A warm ocean breeze in your hair. Smooth rum to go down. Your evening really can’t get much better than this. Start sipping at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne at their rum tasting event at the gorgeous Dune Oceanfront Burger Lounge. The fun begins on Thursday, March 24 from 6pm-9pm where guests will be treated to complimentary nibbles and Mount Gay Rum tasting with an onsite DJ spinning beats. Other cocktails will also be served, priced at $8, for those who can only stomach so much rum.

Miami Beach’s Hotel Breakwater, the swanky oceanfront boutique resort will be opening it’s newly multi-million dollar renovated doors this coming spring. The new parent company, Jordache Jeans will keep the overall look and feel of the hotel very South Beach with ultra posh embellishments, making this Art Deco property one not to miss.

Get your engines ready for the Supercar Experience Panamerican Concours Miami 2011, happening this Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens where privately owned cars will be on display for the public to view.

On Tuesday, March 8, the Citizens Interested in the Arts, Inc., (CIA) held their Annual membership luncheon at Fontainebleau Hotel honoring impresaria Judy Drucker for over 40 years of taking part in the arts. She accepted the CIA’s 2011 Champion of the Arts Award for her efforts of presenting both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties with music and dance throughout the years.
