On August 30, The Levi Strauss & Co. Global Headquarters hosted the first media event in their new space. The evening featured canopes, cocktails, custom fittings, and a behind-the-scenes look at how the vintage archives inspired the collections.

Designers from Levi’s, Dockers, Signature and Denizen were on hand to walk guests through fall collections and perform custom fittings. At the end of the evening, guests were sent home with a key piece of his or her choosing.

On Wednesday, August 24, two bay area classics left their mark on San Francisco, as the Levi’s® brand partnered with food activist, Alice Waters, to create a very special “School Lunch” commemorating Chez Panisse’s 40th Anniversary.

The event featured locally sourced lunch boxes with organic food; the launch of a limited-edition t-shirt collection designed by Alice Waters and a host of creative icons including: David Byrne, Sofia Coppola, Dave Eggers and Maira Kalman; and a book signing for Alice Waters’ new book, “40 Years of Chez Panisse, The Power of Gathering.”

Park Tavern is the swanky, older sister restaurant to Anna Weinberg and Chef Jennifer Puccio’s Marlowe in SoMa. The exclusive pre-opening party brought out the who’s who of San Francisco, including former Mayor Willie Brown, Chef Elizabeth Falkner (of Citizen Cake, Orson, and Top Chef fame), Chef Tyler Florence (of Wayfare Tavern and Food Network), Liam Mayclem (of San Francisco’s Eye on the Bay), and many more. Proprietress Anna Weinberg graciously mingled with her adoring crowd throughout the evening.
