Haute Spot: Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar
The Red Sox aren’t the only reason to trek down to Kenmore Square this summer. A self-described “modern neighborhood tavern” with an innovative take on pig-centric pub cuisine, Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar (1310 Boylston Street, Boston, (617) 450-9000) offers an extensive selection of spirits (75 whiskeys and microbrews), shellfish (a full raw bar featuring locally-harvested Wellfleet oysters, among others), and swine (grab nine of your buddies for a full pig roast for $380) that’ll make your belly swell to Papi-like proportions
Save the Date: Art Exhibition Fundraiser for Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism
Full-service art gallery Quidley and Company (118 Newbury Street, Boston, 617-450-4300) is teaming up with Boston College darling Doug Flutie on Thursday, March 31st from 6-8 p.m. to host a fundraising event with proceeds going towards his Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, a charitable initiative dedicated to supporting families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Haute Opening: Exhale Mind Body Spa at Fairmont Battery Wharf
A cutting-edge center of well-being, Exhale is a collection of spa, fitness, healing, and relaxing programs located throughout Battery Wharf. Earlier this month, Exhale opened its doors to the public for its official grand opening, where guests were treated to complimentary mini-spa treatments, fashion trunk shows, and a sneak-peek of the soon-to-launch Core Fusion Boot Camp class, presented by Core Fusion co-founders Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp themselves.
Haute Dining: North 26 Restaurant and Bar
We’re smack-dab in the middle of Restaurant Week(s) here in Boston, where the area’s best chefs are trotting out their famous food to accolade-laden reviews and trumpeted fanfare. Okay, maybe there’s not actually a brass section escorting the foie gras from kitchen to table at your favorite eatery, but if any fine dining establishment deserves musical accompaniment, it’s North 26 Restaurant and Bar (26 North Street, Boston, (617) 557-3640).
Haute Fashion: Shop for Spring at Mint Julep Boutique
As Bostonians, we’ve had our fair share of eight-foot snow drifts and rock-salted roadways this winter. And although we’re springing quickly towards short sleeves and day games at Fenway Park, the prospect of precipitation still looms in the form of April showers. Luckily, forthcoming rainfall doesn’t have to dampen your spirits.
Haute Dining: Boston’s Sophisticated New Cocktail Lounge Coming Soon – Scholars American Bistro
While James Franco couldn’t make time for the late-night bash at his own writer’s watering hole (although Kevin Spacey, Seth Rogen, and several cast members of the new 90210 were in attendance), perhaps he’ll be inclined to check out Scholars American Bistro and Cocktail Lounge, a “coming soon” attraction that’s opening on School Street in downtown Boston on March 21. (General Manager Kati Semanski tells Haute Living Boston that a grand opening is being planned for early April.)
