The Fairmont’s New Year’s Luau, San Francisco

News | November 9, 2009

While I don’t recommend beginning your New Year’s Eve countdown quite yet, I do think  you should consider some options for where you’d like to celebrate the beginning of 2010, because those annual celebrations are, if you can believe it, right around the corner.

The Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco will be holding a New Year’s Luau in their historic Tonga Room. In order to remain as true to the Hawaiian spirit as possible, the luau is reported to include an elaborate island buffet, complete with a “five-spiced smoked suckling pig”.

The dinner portion of the island-inspired evening will take place from 7:30-9:30pm at the restaurant and tickets are going for $159 for adults and $79.50 for children under the age of 12.

The lounge celebration, which is set to be the highlight of the evening, starts at 7:00pm and tickets cost $50 which will allow you enjoy dancing to the band The Island Groove, and champagne toasts when midnight hits.
