London’s A-list celebs and politicians, plus some high profile stars from across the pond, graced the red carpet at the Royal Opera house earlier this week for the 2010 GQ Man Of The Year Awards.

The ceremony was hosted by comedian James Nesbitt who memorably insulted Kate Moss at last year’s awards (Kate was notably absent this time around) by making references to her sex life.

Stars out on the red carpet included Dizzee Rascal, James Cordon, Daisy Lowe, Noel Gallagher, and the four-months pregnant Lilly Allen.

Winners included Anish Kapoor who accepted the Dunhill Cultural Icon Award, Georgio Armani for best designer, and Heston Blumenthal for best chef.

Man of the night was undoubtedly the dapper Jon Hamm who won the magazine’s most prestigious award, the Man of the Year. The Mad Man star wowed the crowds waiting outside as he arrived in a smart black tuxedo with long-term girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.

The highlight was Prime Minister, David Cameron, who as he was accepted his award or Politician of the Year from Sir David Frost, took a swipe at Wayne Rooney’s recent off-pitch antics.

Informing the guests of the England game against Switzerland he said, “’Wayne Rooney has scored and this time it’s on the pitch, in the opponent’s goal, actually playing for his country so I’m pleased to announce that.’
