Michael Jordan Personally Tastes Every Batch of Cincoro’s New Limited-Edition Añejo Reserva

Michael Jordan has a hand in every bottle of Cincoro Tequila, quite literally. According to co-founder Emilia Fazzalari, she and Jordan personally taste every batch before bottling, and the brand’s newest release had to clear that bar too: a limited-edition Añejo Reserva, arriving just in time for the holiday season.

The rare, extra-aged expression launches November 4 and is priced at $149.99 for a 750mL bottle. It will be available online and at select retailers including Total Wine & More and Binny’s, as well as at select high-end restaurants and cocktail bars.

Aged in Tennessee whiskey barrels. Like the rest of the portfolio, Añejo Reserva starts with Blue Weber agave sourced from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco. The tequila is then aged for 28 months in Tennessee whiskey barrels and blended with Cincoro Extra Añejo. The result, according to the brand, delivers notes of toasted oak, baking spices, cooked agave and dark chocolate.

“Añejo Reserva brings a new dimension to the Cincoro portfolio, with a complex flavor profile developed through our extended aging and blending process,” said Fazzalari. “Michael Jordan and I personally taste every batch before bottling to ensure each expression meets the high standards of quality and craftsmanship we’ve set for Cincoro.”

Jordan is just as pleased with how it turned out. “We set out to create something special with Añejo Reserva, and I’m really proud of the result,” said the Cincoro co-founder. “It’s smooth and delicious, and I’m excited to share it with friends and family this holiday season.”

Cincoro launched in 2019, founded by five NBA rivals: Jeanie Buss of the Los Angeles Lakers, Wes Edens of the Milwaukee Bucks, Emilia Fazzalari and Wyc Grousbeck of the Boston Celtics, and Michael Jordan. Since its debut, the brand has won more than 36 awards in accredited spirits competitions.
