Delano is Coming to Italy: Inside the New Delano Puglia Resort in Monopoli

Delano, the Miami-born hotel brand, is headed to Italy. Ennismore announced today — on September 29, 2026 — that it has signed Delano Puglia, a 76-key resort in the historic port city of Monopoli on the Adriatic coast, set to open in 2028. It will be the brand’s first property in Italy. Plans include a restaurant by Paris Society, two pool bars and a new take on Miami’s Rose Bar.

Monopoli sits on the Adriatic in the province of Bari. It’s a working harbor town with a whitewashed old quarter, a centuries-old seafront and a coastline full of small rocky coves. According to the announcement, Delano Puglia will sit in a secluded Mediterranean landscape of clear water, rocky inlets and wide sea views. That’s the side of Puglia that has drawn a steady stream of well-traveled visitors in recent years.

The timing makes sense. Puglia has become one of Europe’s most sought-after luxury destinations, and a quieter alternative to Italy’s better-known resort areas. As Haute Living noted in its look at where the world’s wealthiest travelers are heading, the region is still gaining ground among high-end travelers. Until now, much of its reputation has rested on a small number of flagship hotels. A new name like Delano adds to that list.

Delano Puglia will have 76 guestrooms, 13 of them suites. For a resort on this stretch of coast, that’s an intimate size. The design plans call for light-filled interiors, easy movement between indoor and outdoor spaces, and a natural palette shaped by the Mediterranean setting. Ennismore says the goal is to feel both timeless and contemporary.

Food and drinks are central to the plan. The main restaurant, an all-day specialty concept from Paris Society, will be joined by two pool bars and a lobby lounge. The resort will also bring over one of Delano’s most famous names: the Rose Bar. The original has been a South Beach nightlife landmark since 1995, and the Puglia version is described as a reimagining. The Paris Society partnership follows the group’s role in Delano Miami Beach’s reopening. There, Paris Society made its U.S. debut and helped relaunch the Rose Bar.

Wellness will come under The Source by Delano. The concept pairs restoration with a more social energy across movement spaces, pools, and programming. Flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces will host gatherings. Curated retail will let guests take a piece of the destination home. The most loyal guests can join an exclusive membership, which offers curated events and experiences at Delano properties around the world. “Delano has always been about a feeling – a sense of ease, elegance, and cultural relevance that transcends place. Zrihen added that the project is also Ennismore’s first property in Puglia. The resort is being developed with LIMM, a construction company led by the Liuzzi family. Società Rinascimento Valori is the project and construction manager for the building refurbishment. “This is an important project for Monopoli and Puglia, revitalizing a part of the city and unlocking a new and vibrant resort where local residents and visitors can enjoy the best of Pugliese hospitality,” Vito Liuzzi, CEO, LIMM adds. Liuzzi also said he expects the resort to become “a new point of reference in Puglia for luxury lifestyle” and “an icon in Puglia for years to come.”

Delano was born in Miami and helped define the modern lifestyle hotel. The brand is now in a new growth phase. Its Miami Beach flagship reopened in 2026 after a long renovation. Recent openings and signings also include Paris, Dubai, New York, London, and Marrakech. Delano Puglia adds to the brand’s resort portfolio and marks its first move into southern Italy.
