Marc Anthony Is Opening a Speakeasy in Miami — but You’ll Have to Buy a Condo to Get In
Marc's, a private speakeasy curated by Marc Anthony, is reserved for residents of HQ Residences Miami in Edgewater.
Marc Anthony is opening a speakeasy in Miami, and unless you buy a condo, you’re not getting in. Marc’s, curated by the Grammy winner, will occupy the top-floor amenity level of HQ Residences Miami, a 35-story, 229-residence tower rising at 422 NE 29th Street in Edgewater. It’s the first residential project from HQ Hotels & Residences by sbe, the brand Anthony is a partner in alongside hospitality veteran Sam Nazarian, and it’s being developed by Black Salmon, the Boschetti Group and Constellation Group with architecture by Arquitectonica. Picture wood paneling, walls of vinyl, Latin music and late-night jazz. Residences start at $850,000; the bar tab, one assumes, is extra.
In Miami, going out is practically a civic duty. The traffic, the valet line and the velvet rope, however, are not. Which is what makes the pitch here so clever: the best room in the building may well be a bar, and your commute to it is an elevator.

A Listening Bar at the Top of the Tower
If the renderings are any guide, Marc’s is less nightclub and more hi-fi den: the kind of warm, low-lit room that encourages one drink to become three. Wood paneling and coffered ceilings give it texture, and amber lighting does the rest. Marble cocktail tables add a little polish to the deep, low-slung seating and darker finishes.
The centerpiece is a long, illuminated bar, which is as good a place as any for an early negroni or a questionable 1 a.m. nightcap. The walls, meanwhile, are lined with records and speakers, putting music quite literally at the center of the design. It’s a visual shorthand that suits its curator perfectly. (Did anyone expect the Marc Anthony bar to be quiet?)
The whole thing reads as a retreat within a retreat, private even by the standards of a private building. Miami has no shortage of places to be seen. What it lacks, and what Marc’s promises, is somewhere to become a regular.

The Soundtrack Is Personal
Anthony’s involvement goes beyond lending his first name to the door. The plan is for the room’s programming to center on Latin music, late-night jazz and intimate live performances: his taste, essentially, piped directly into the building.
That scale makes sense for a performer who has spent decades filling arenas. A small room changes live music entirely. The band is close enough to touch, the sound wraps around you, and everyone in the room feels like they’re in on the same secret. It’s the kind of night you can’t really buy a ticket for, which is precisely why it works as an amenity.
And yes, there is talk of Anthony himself making the occasional appearance. To be clear, that’s been floated as a possibility rather than a standing engagement, so I wouldn’t hold my breath every Thursday. But I also wouldn’t leave early.

What Else Is Upstairs
Marc’s is the after-dark anchor of a much larger bet on hospitality-driven living. HQ Residences Miami’s amenities occupy the top two floors. One level down is a wellness floor designed with THE WELL co-founder Kane Sarhan, complete with contrast-therapy circuits, a hammam, sauna, steam room, plunge pools and an open-air training terrace. Up top, alongside the speakeasy, residents get a podcast studio, a chef’s kitchen, TOMA Gourmet from Sofía Vergara and her son Manolo, and the Miami debut of Jack’s NYC Coffee. Membership in the HQ Social Club also opens doors to curated events and VIP experiences across the city.
The logic is easy to follow: sweat it out in the hammam at seven, grab dinner upstairs at eight, and end up at Marc’s by ten without ever calling a car. For buyers who want privacy but have no intention of living quietly, it’s a compelling combination. The Anthony connection runs deeper, too. His wife, model and entrepreneur Nadia Ferreira, serves as an HQ Residences ambassador, so this is very much a family affair.

The Case for Staying In
There’s a reason every developer in Miami is suddenly selling “community,” and most of the time it’s marketing. What makes Marc’s interesting is that it gives that promise a specific shape: a favorite seat, a familiar record, a Tuesday that accidentally turns into the best night of the week.
Anthony and Nazarian have built careers on knowing how to fill a room. Here, they’re trying to fill one for the people who live upstairs. In a city that has never needed an excuse to go out, Marc’s makes a surprisingly persuasive case for staying home.
