How Jamie Milne Built Everything Delish Into a Culinary Community

With her platform Everything Delish, Jamie Milne has built a community that turns to her for easy, delicious recipes and approachable food inspiration. Known for her love of “big bowl” meals, family-first cooking style, and always-stocked fridge, Milne has carved out a space where home cooking feels both fun and accessible. In this conversation, she shares how her passion for food began, the staples she always keeps on hand, and the kitchen tools she swears by.
Haute Living: How did you decide to create Everything Delish?
Jamie Milne: Everything Delish actually started as a creative outlet while I was teaching and completing my Master’s of Education at the same time. I was always the go-to person for restaurant, travel, and recipe recommendations, and one day I told my friends, “Instead of asking me all the time, just follow my account, Everything Delish, as I share it all there!” What began as a fun hobby where I posted what I was genuinely cooking, eating, or up to has since flourished into my full-time career.
HL: Have you always loved food and wanted to work in the industry?
JM: I’ve been obsessed with food for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home where my mom was always cooking, my grandmothers were always in the kitchen, and family dinners were at the heart of everything we did. Some of my earliest memories are of big gatherings around the table, with my mom entertaining family and friends. And honestly, I was that four-year-old happily eating a club sandwich with extra bacon and a side of mayo (still one of my favorites today!). However, I had no idea that my love of food and cooking would lead me to work in the industry, as I had always dreamt of being a teacher when I was a young girl!
HL: What is your favorite dish to cook?
JM: My absolute favorite thing to cook? Anything that can be served in a BIG BOWL! There’s just something about it, whether it’s a big bowl of pasta, a loaded salad, a cozy one-pot chicken and rice, or a delish salmon rice bowl. I swear, everything tastes better when it’s served in a bowl! But, my all-time favorite is pasta – specifically, spicy vodka pasta with extra parm!
HL: What are you always stocking your fridge with?
JM: These days, my fridge is stocked for three: my 1-year-old son, my husband, and myself (plus all the recipe testing I do!). But no matter what, you can always count on a few staples being in there: fresh herbs (they instantly jazz up any meal), butter, mayo, eggs, chicken thighs, salmon, and ground beef for the week. I always keep plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, plus milk and cheese (non-negotiable in our house). Lately, my husband and I have been on a big kefir kick (we love Lifeway Kefir) and kimchi, too, so those have become regulars in our fridge lineup!
