Green Day Singer Lists Upper Rockridge Home

News | October 7, 2009

Popular band Green Day’s lead vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong, has just listed his Upper Rockridge home for $4.85 million, leaving potential buyers with a somewhat surprisingly beautiful and elegant home comfortably set below $5 million.

At a time when Green Day’s “American Idiot” theater production is selling out crowds at Berkeley Rep and their most recent pop-rock album is gathering rampant approval, 37-year-old Armstrong is giving potential buyers a glimpse into his home and sense of style, and it certainly isn’t what you’re expecting to see in a rock star’s mansion.

The 5 bedroom, 4 and a half bathroom Mediterranean-style home is subtly elegant and extremely tastefully decorated. Designed by Mark Becker in the late 1990’s, Armstrong’s 7,000 square foot home is flawlessly reserved and features a pool, pool house, and perhaps not-so-surprisingly, a professional music studio.

The home will officially go on the market at the end of October, however if you’re interested in viewing it, viewings are scheduled by appointment only.
