Four Restaurants in NYC To Spoil Mom This Mother’s Day
It’s that time of year again, where we put in a little extra effort to show mom how much we appreciate her. This year, why not treat her to a sophisticated brunch or celebratory dinner at New York’s top dining destinations. She will love you for it. Here are four haute spots to consider when spoiling your mom this Mother’s Day.
Daniel
The renowned French restaurant Daniel, from Daniel Boulud, is the perfect place to indulge your mother with osetra caviar, peekytoe crab and a toast of Dom Pérignon Champagne. The three-course menu starts at $205/person with an additional wine pairing at $110/person, tailored to satisfy any palate. Choose from Hamachi, stir-fried Maine peekytoe crab, warm Provence white asparagus or grappa flambéed Hudson Valley foie gras for the first course. The second course excites with green walk golden trout hatchery, Scharbauer ranch wagyu strip loin and Elysian fields farm roasted lamb chop with young radishes and nettle emulsion. Top off the night with a decadent dessert such as tarte citron, rhubarb, sakanti or pistache with salted caramel and praline, frankincense ice cream and pishori pistachio-infused opalys chocolate.

Nougatine Jean-Georges
If you’re short on time, then the Mother’s Day tasting menu at Nougatine and The Terrace at Jean-Georges is the option for you. Set in the same space as Jean-Georges, the upscale sister, Nougatine, attracts a mix of celebrities, socialites and movers and shakers in the business world. Mom will not only love the gorgeous views of Central Park, but the newly-renovated dining room from Thomas Juul-Hansen. The $118/person dinner tasting menu focuses on the finer things in life such as tuna tartare with avocado, spicy radish, and ginger marinade; foie gras brûlée; pepper-crusted salmon; and beef tenderloin with soy-garlic mushrooms, crispy potatoes and herbs. Another option is to enjoy the full a la carte menu all day, which includes fried calamari, crispy Maine lobster, Tasmanian sea trout and more.
