Inside Angela Birdman’s Walk In Style For The Animals Kick Off Luncheon

Avid philanthropist, Haute 100-lister and Haute Living’s “Leading Lady of Innovation,” Angela Birdman, gathered her closest friends, philanthropists and animal-lovers to kick off the 4th Annual Walk in Style for the Animals event with a chic luncheon at Stephen Starr’s famed restaurant, Le Zoo. The Bal Harbour dining destination served as the perfect setting for the invite-only ladies’ luncheon to gear up for the exciting, upcoming event.

The 4th annual Walk in Style for the Animals shopping event will take place Thursday, February 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the shoe department of the beautiful Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour, where a portion of sales will go to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami. The event is free and open to the public.

The lunching ladies enjoyed a decadent meal curated by the culinary team at Le Zoo, including Tagiolini pasta with black winter truffle butter sauce; Chicken Paillard; and a tasty, warm shrimp and avocado salad, paired with beautiful wines from Santero Wines of Italy. The tables were accented with Don de Fleurs’ feminine custom red rose bouquets nestled in stylish hat boxes. Guests also received a delicious, rich chocolate box with three gourmet truffles from Vasalissa Chocolates for a sweet treat at the end of the meal.

Once lunch was complete, the women took to Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour, just a few steps away, to enjoy a private dessert party amidst the jaw-dropping shoe displays at the iconic department store. In honor of the occasion, Donut Underground debuted its newest gourmet flavor with a special presentation to event host Angela Birdman and the ladies in attendance.

The ornate treat is the brand’s newest gourmet flavor, and it’s just as delicious as it is beautiful. It’s crafted with sweet purple yam flour, filled and topped with a dark chocolate mousse and infused with orange and Hennessy Cognac before being dusted in gold and garnished with an orange twist.This limited-edition donut can be found at the brand’s sweet pop-up called “Enter Through the Donut Shop” at the Rudolf Budja Gallery in Miami Beach.

It was the perfect afternoon filled with friends, laughs, gourmet food & beverage and of course, giving back to a great cause and supporting the groups’ precious furry friends.
