Mariah Carey’s advice for Fergie is the only one she needs. She said, “Darling, nobody needs to listen to that.”

And, that is how you “Shake It Off” the Mariah Carey way. She, after all, has experience with being criticized for her live performances in the past. Particularly, her New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2017 performance.

Despite it all, Carey continues to reign supreme. Her nonchalant attitude is exactly how an icon and Grammy Award-winner should react. Something Carey and Fergie have in common.

The objective is to avoid scandal on top of scandal and Fergie did just that. She reacted with the same champion’s mentality regarding her National Anthem Performance. In the least defeatest way possible, she responded to her critics with grace.

She said, “I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly, this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
