These two former NBA and UNLV basketball players are coaching kids for the weekend at Life Time Athletic in Summerlin.

Here’s something fun, exciting, and different happening this weekend. Life Time Athletic in Summerlin reached out to two former professional basketball players to educate young basketball enthusiasts.

There’s something about basketball players that’s admirable. They’re relentless. Their stamina, intelligence, and strategic skills on the court help them solve problematic plays that have impactful wins. Former NBA first-round draft and UNLV star Marcus Banks, and San Antonio Spur and former USC standout Desmon Farmer are incredibly knowledgeable on the subject.

Taking their experiences in the game, Banks and Farmer will be crucial components as hosts to the two-day Ultimate Hoops Training Clinic event on Saturday, Jan. 13 and Sunday, Jan. 14 for children between the ages of 7 to 18.

Participants will experience creative, high-intensity drills that improve shooting, ball handling, passing, basketball IQ and confidence. The time frames included in the two-day package are divided by age groups like the 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. session for third through fifth-grade students; 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. for sixth through eighth-grade students; 1:30-2:30 p.m. for all high school students.

The event at the Life Time Athletic Summerlin location, located at 10721 W. Charleston Blvd, is priced at $140 for Life Time Athletics’ members and $150 for non-members.
