It doesn’t matter if the collections are showing in Milan, Melbourne, Manila, or Moscow, street style has become synonymous with fashion week. What editors, bloggers, and influencers wear to the shows is just as important as the looks that parade down the runway. Case in point: last week’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Local trendsetters stomped the sidewalk around the Manege event center, posing with cell phones or friends, acting as if the great outdoors was their own personal catwalk. Puff The Magic Coat

Although it’s technically still fall in Moscow, it’s freezing outside. Thus, a down—puffer—coat is both functional and fashionable.

Sock It To Me

Is this a trend that will break out internationally in places like New York and Los Angeles? We’re not sure, but in Moscow, visible socks are a thing. Not only do they protect ankles from the chill, but they also add a touch of whimsy to any look.

Seeing Red

Although the color red is associated with Soviet symbolism, the hue is still beloved today. After all, Moscow’s most iconic settinig, home to the Kremlin and St. Basil Cathedral, is the Red Square.

Like socks, hats are having a moment in Moscow. Baseball caps, military hats, berets—you name it, someone was sporting it.
