How to Celebrate Bastille Day in Miami
The Independence Day fun isn’t quite over. Lucky for us, we have another reason to celebrate and some of Miami’s favorite restaurants are coming up with inventive ways to honor the French Independence Day in authentic style. To ring in Bastille Day, we suggest checking out these hot spots for great food, drinks and a killer party scene.
LE ZOO
Petanque players, fashionistas, musicians and mimes come together to celebrate Bastille Day at Le Zoo, Stephen Starr’s acclaimed French dining destination in the prestigious Bal Harbour Shops. The chic brasserie will be celebrating throughout the weekend with menu specials including $1 oysters, an outdoor ice cream cart and creative specialty cocktails. On Friday evening guests will enjoy a lively performance from Miami-based band, The French Horn Collective, starting at 6:30 p.m. Other fun activities include a mime who will perform throughout the day, a photo booth and a petanque court located between Le Zoo and its sister restaurant Makoto.
BAGATELLE
The French hot spot is celebrating Bastille Day in style with a special brunch edition. Head over to the South Beach gem on Sunday, July 16th from noon to 6 p.m. and take part in the celebration which includes music by Vincent Dubas and delicious French cuisine. And of course, Sunday Funday isn’t complete without some decadent cocktails, like the Despacito.
MARION
Head to the Brickell French hot spot and enjoy an authentic Bastille Day celebration on Friday, July 14th. In typical Marion fashion, the party will be in full swing throughout the entire night, with French beats by DJ Hushmoney to keep the crowd dancing with as classics mashed up with contemporary hits belt through the speakers. On Friday, July 14th, the Miami Bayfront hotel will be celebrating Bastille Day in partnership with the French & Famous team, with a patio that is decked out with tricolored paper lanterns surrounding a beautiful set up for a prix fixe 3-course dinner, checkered table cloths and lively programming like a pétanque tournament, a mime show, the election of Miss Guinguette, outdoor movie screenings and you can’t forget the traditional accordion ball. The affair will feature French DJs, lots of bubbly and lively dancers, as well as two specialty cocktails inspired by Bastille Day, The French Press and the Bastille. Decorated for the occasion in the colors of the French flag, Villa Azur has concocted a diverse menu of French specialties to satisfy hungry Francophone and Francophile taste bud in honor of their grand Bastille Day fête. The Miami hotspot will feature a lively ambiance with a live band and singer Ale More to start, followed by resident French DJ Stephan M to dance under the stars.
