Live in a Little Piece of Lagerfeld at The Estates
Acqualina has long been associated with luxury. From the original Aqualina tower, to the Mansions at Acqualina to The Estates at Acqualina, every project they do breaks new ground in cushy living. Now they’ve got fashion’s biggest name, Karl Lagerfeld, to design the two residential lobby spaces at The Estates project.
Lagerfeld may not be top of mind in interior design, but he has proven that there is little he can’t design. He is the Head Designer and Creative Director at Chanel, as well as at Fendi and his own namesake label. But he does so much more… from illustration, to photography (he often shoots his own campaigns), to industrial design on numerous products with many brands.
Interior design has also been a true passion for him, garnering Architectural Digest spreads on his many homes. When he pivoted from Rococo, selling over 400 of his valuable 18th century French furniture, and dove into 21st contemporary design, it made headlines. Of course, the buzz helped him move over $40 million worth of furniture. He’s also decorated other residences around the world in notable styles from Art Deco, to Biedermeier style to poppy Memphis style.
He says he’s turned to designing hotels and other spaces because he already has too many houses, and is looking for another creative outlet. He’s done the pool at the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo, suites at the famous Hôtel de Crillon and even an entire 270-room hotel located in Macau, China. Now South Florida will have a little piece of the iconic designer.
Eddie and Jules Trump (the other Trumps) are the developers behind Acqualina, and the jaw-dropping $10-million sales center for the new project recently opened on July 6th, 2016. The center is move-in ready featuring a full-scale, 4,500 square-foot working model of an Estates residence, with exact finishes and luxury amenities that will be available in each unit, including a petite theater and a full balcony with a working outdoor spa, kitchen and fireplace.
“Simply put, The Estates at Acqualina will be the world’s finest residences,” said Jules Trump, developer of The Estates at Acqualina. “Eddie and I wanted our entrance lobbies to be the piece de resistance of our new project, and who better to create these than the master of modern creativity: Karl Lagerfeld. Karl is the world’s most acclaimed designer, and we believe his high-end designs will be greatly valued by our residents, who desire an incomparable level of opulence, luxury, design and style.”
