5 Reasons to Check Out Bar Boulud Boston’s Charcuterie Experience on June 18

The art of charcuterie takes a certain craft and Bar Boulud is showcasing that this weekend when Parisian Charcutier Gilles Vérot comes to Boston to create a decadent three-course educational offering that you won’t soon forget.

On June 18, Bar Boulud is hosting Parisian Charcutier Gilles Vérot for a special summer-inspired charcuterie experience. Here are five reasons why you need to check it out this Saturday.

1. Charcutier Gilles Vérot, who serves as Chef Daniel Boulud’s worldwide charcuterie consultant, will be returning to Boston to partner up with Bar Boulud’s resident Chef Charcutier Tristan Crépin to serve up a three-course inspired menu that gets underway at 5:30 p.m. (Originally from Paris, Chef Crépin began his career more than 10 years ago under the tutelage of Chef Vérot).

2.  This is your chance to sample the fine culinary art of French charcuterie without having to leave Boston. Whether you are a charcuterie gourmand or tasting novice, the evening takes diners on a culinary journey through France.

3. The evening’s selection of hand-picked wine pairings from Bar Boulud’s Sommelier, David Bérubé include samplings like Bergerie De L’Hortus, Coteaux Du Languedoc, France, 2015.

4. The summer-inspired menu starts with green tea infused chicken terrine; chicken, tomato confit, fine herbs and green tea paired with Bergerie De L’Hortus, Coteaux Du Languedoc, France, 2015 (rosé). You then move along to Beef Pot au Feu (beef, red wine, carrots, potatoes and seasonal vegetables) paired with Digioia-Royer, Bourgogne Rouge, France, 2013 (red). The final sampling features shared Tourte de Canard aux Foie Gras (served for two), a delicious combination of baked Tourte, cuck, foie gras, Morel mushrooms and asparagus paired with Château Lyonnat, Lussac-Saint-Emilion, France, 2010 (red).
