NET-A-PORTER Sponsors Annual Winter Lunch Raising $250,000

On Tuesday, February 2nd NET-A-PORTER and The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering held their annual Winter Lunch.The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) was founded in 1946. It is an incredible organization within MSK devoted to the well-being of patients, supporting cancer research, and providing public education on the early prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. The scene for this important fundraiser was set at DANIEL, the signature restaurant of the world-famous Daniel Boulud.

NET-A-PORTER, the online designer retailer, sponsored the elegant evening for the biggest names in the industry. Winter Lunch was co-chaired by incredible women including Shoshanna Gruss, Meredith Melling, Claudia Overstrom, and Virginia Wettlaufer Tomenson. The co-chairs were joined by 160 elite guests who sipped cocktails over good conversation and a seated lunch. The unparalleled ambiance was exentuated by remarks from The Society of MSK’s President, Lavinia Branca Snyder and NET-A-PORTER Vice President of Global Buying, Sarah Rutson.

This was followed by insights from Dr. R. Scott Dingeman from the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering, who spoke about The Society’s newest initiative, the newly formed, multidisciplinary Pediatric Pain & Palliative Care Team (PACT) at MSK. This venture is committed to creating and providing exceptional therapies to reduce pain and suffering cause by childhood cancers and their treatments.

The Winter Lunch this year received overwhelming support and raised over $250,000. In the mix at this haute affair were notables like Cynthia Nixon, Charlotte Ronson, and Gillian Hearst Simonds. The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering continues to be a leading force in the efforts to provide a positive resource for cancer victims.
