Haute 100 SF: Steph Curry Named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

Off to a great start, Haute 100 lister Stephen Curry has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Tuesday, Oct. 27^th through Sunday, Nov. 1^st.

Curry, who continues to have an amazing year, led the team to a 3-0 start to the season with averages of 39.3 points (first in the NBA), 7.3 assists (tied for sixth), 5.7 rebounds and 2.33 steals (tied for seventh) in 32.9 minutes, hitting 58.8 percent from the field, 48.6 percent from three-point range and 95.5 percent at the line. The highlight of Curry’s week occurred on Halloween, where he had a 53-point performance in New Orleans.

Curry now joins NBA legends Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry as the only players in club history with at least three 50-point games. After ending the week with a total of 118 points, the 27-year-old again joins NBA legends Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and Michael Jordan as the only players ever to score that many points through the season’s first three games, according to the Warriors.

Thanks to Curry as well as the skillset of his fellow basketball players, the Golden State Warriors has started 3-0 consecutive seasons for the second time in franchise history. It also marks the first time in franchise history the team has scored double digits in their wining victories.

The award marks the 37^th time a Golden State Warrior has been named Player of the Week since the NBA began giving out the award in 1979.

Earlier this fall, Under Armour extended its partnership with Curry. The partnership will now last through 2024. The announcement was made at the Under Armour’s Global Headquarters in Baltimore. Under Armour will continue to expand Curry’s signature footwear line and collection of products through year-round initiatives and increase global availability.
