Dance With the Dancers at the New York City Ballet

News | June 14, 2010

Tonight, the New York City Ballet brings back one of its most anticipated events of the Spring Season — Dance with the Dancers with cocktails, dinner and dancing on the Promenade at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

Since 1985, Dance with the Dancers has provided the unique opportunity for performing arts lovers to interact with New York City Ballet and its illustrious ensemble of dancers. The festivities tonight include a special film created and presented by New York City Ballet dancers, followed by a dance competition where the crowd will determine the winner.

I plan to attend tonight with Alexandra Lebenthal, author of The Recessionistas. Also expected are Maggie Gyllenhaal, who will serve as the honorary chairman with Leith Clark, Kipton Cronkite, Adelina Wong Ettelson, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Ashleigh Pattee, Amy Sacco, Allison Sarofim and Arden Wohl as event chairmen. Three New York City Ballet dancers will join as dancer chairmen: principal dancer Sara Mearns, principal dancer Amar Ramasar and corps de ballet member Amanda Hankes.
