Seabourn Offers A First Look At Its Newest Luxury Cruise Ship

Seattle-based luxury cruise line Seabourn is offering a first glimpse at its newest luxury liner (via USA Today). The new vessel, dubbed the Seabourn Encore, is a striking mix of contemporary and elegant styling. The 604 passenger liner features several spaces conceptualized by noted hospitality designer Adam Tihany, including a breezy main dining hall and a social hub similar to those found on the company’s other ships. While this new ship is based on Seabourn’s Odyssey Class design, It will sport an extra deck and more expansive public areas.
Weighing in at a whopping 40,350 tons, the vessel will be about 26% larger than the three other Odyssey Class ships in Seabourn’s lineup, but will hold around 34 percent more passengers due to double occupancy. Unfortunately, the Seabourn Encore will feature about 6% less space per passenger, but that’s a small sacrifice to make for what is otherwise, top of the line luxury.

Seabourn also teased the name of the Encore’s sister ship, which it has on order for delivery in 2018. That 604 passenger ship will be called the Seabourn Ovation.
The introduction of these two new ships is part of Seabourn’s plan to transform and reorganize their fleet. The company has also sold three of its older ships to Windstar cruises. The Seabourn Pride is currently sailing as Windstar’s Star Pride, while the Seabourn Spirit and Legend will sail under the Windstar banner later this year.
Expect the Seabourn Encore to hit the high seas in 2016.
