5 Summer Tequila Cocktails to Start The Weekend off Right
When Friday afternoon rolls around, there’s nothing New Yorkers look forward to more than a well-made cocktail. And nothing gets the party started like tequila! Whether you’re taking a road trip to Sagaponack or jetting off to Saint-Tropez, Haute Living has rounded up five creative tequila cocktail recipes to help you welcome the weekend. Cheers!
Verde Palabra at Bodega Negra at the Dream Hotel
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Casamigos Blanco
.75 oz Green Chartreuse
.75 oz jalapeño syrup
.75 oz pineapple juice
.75 oz lime juice
pinch of cilantro
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled partway with ice. Shake until cold, then strain into a tall glass. Garnish with a sprig of cilantro.
BiQuiNi at Casa La Femme
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Qui Tequila
.5 oz orange-flavored liqueur
1 oz pink grapefruit juice
1 tablespoon agave syrup
splash of lemon & lime juice
splash of champagne
orange peel
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients except champagne and orange peel into a shaker over ice and shake well. Strain into martini glass and top with a splash of champagne. Garnish with orange peel.
Spicy Paloma at The Roof at Viceroy Hotel
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila
.75 oz Thai Chile Aperol
1 oz grapefruit juice
.5oz lime juice
.5oz simple syrup
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients except the seltzer in a cocktail shaker filled partway with ice. Shake until cold, then strain into a Collins glass filled 1/3 of the way with ice. Top with a little soda and float a grapefruit slice in the glass.
Pink Mojito from Hakkasan
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz Baron tequila
0.5 oz brown sugar syrup
4 lime wedges
handful of mint leaves
DIRECTIONS:
Muddle mint leaves. Add crushed ice and stir vigorously. Pour into glass. Add more crushed ice. Slowly add cranberry juice.
Mexican Mule at Gemma at The Bowery Hotel
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Qui Platinum Extra-Añejo Tequila
3 oz golden ginger
3 dashes of angostura bitters
orange twist
DIRECTIONS:
In a mixing glass, add ice and all the above ingredients and shake vigorously. Strain over ice into a copper mug and garnish with an orange twist.
