Haute Event: amFAR 5th Annual Inspiration Gala
The fifth annual amfAR Inspiration Gala took place last night at The Plaza Hotel with a star-studded guest list, including host Josh Duhamel, presenter Sarah Jessica Parker, and event chairs Matt Bomer, Andy Cohen, Kenneth Cole, Alan Cumming, Robert De Niro, James Franco and Jennifer Lopez. Presented by MAC Viva Glam, the elegant black tie affair honored HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, HBO and Calvin Klein for their remarkable philanthropic finesse in the fight against AIDS. Dedicated amFAR supporters and designers Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli accepted the honorable award on behalf of Calvin Klein, while the President of Programming Michael Lombardo accepted on behalf of HBO.
To kick things off in style, amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, featured an extraordinary runway of custom-made menswear with prints by 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Diesel Black Gold, Dior Homme, DKNY, Etro, Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lanvin, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and more.
After the upbeat fashion show, the British rock legends of New Order further energized the event with live performances of their beloved hits. Finally, guests enjoyed a live auction of luxury goods to benefit amFAR’s AIDS research programs.
