Haute 100 NY Update: Michael Kors Celebrates New Shanghai Boutique with Star-Studded Bash
Michael Kors is bringing his sophisticated sense of style to Shanghai. The famous fashion designer recently celebrated the opening of his boutique in China with a star-studded bash—and runway show!
Kors was joined at the Hongqiao Airport by a slew of his famous friends including Karmen Pedaru, Isabeli Fontana, Freida Pinto, Hilary Swank, Camilla Belle, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for an “inspirational” fashion show that showcased his designs from various seasons. “The Michael Kors Jet Set Experience was our way to celebrate our new flagship and to educate our Chinese fans about this idea of jet set that is very much the core of the Michael Kors brand,” he told The Daily.
In an effort to “have something for everybody,” Kors’ new Kerry Centre will carry an array of products ranging from casual flip-flops to luxury exotic handbags. “I’m excited to be here in Shanghai, because as a designer, you like a market where people are looking for the next big thing, for the newest thing,” he revealed. “And I think that the consumers in China are doing just that.”
