San Francisco Film Society Awards Night Gala
The 2014 Film Society Awards Night Gala celebrated some of cinema’s leading lights by bringing A-list movie talent together with San Francisco’s social set for an evening of Hollywood glamour.
Dinner guests rubbed shoulders with the stars and were charmed by the eloquent speeches of the honorees and their award presenters, some of whom included Zooey Deschanel who presented the Kanbar Award for screenwriting to Stephen Gaghan, and Actress Parker Posey who presented the Founder’s Directing Award to Richard Linklater.
Other notable attendees included Gia Goppola, whose debut film Palo Alto had its local premiere on May 4 as the Festival’s Centerpiece presentation, actress Lauren Hutton,Tosca’s Jeannette Etheredge and scores of others among San Francisco’s elite. The benefit was a smashing success, raising more than $500,000 to support the Film Society’s year-round programs in exhibition, education and filmmaker services.
