Chris Davenport, Sally Francklyn and Ryan Hudson Host 5 Point Film Festival

5Point Film’s annual festival is a weekend of inspirational adventure shorts and feature-length films that takes place in Carbondale during the spring. This Saturday, people can get a small dose of it at 5Point Film Aspen, an evening featuring samples of the films and special guests Chris Davenport, Sally Francklyn and Ryan Hudson. Big-mountain skier Davenport will lead the evening, with help from Francklyn, a writer and skier who recently recovered from a brain injury, and Hudson, a North Face ambassador and Outdoor Outreach mentor.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Carbondale-based nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and educate through film. With guests like Davenport, Francklyn and Hudson, the inspiration will happen on stage too. 5 Point Film Aspen starts at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Wheeler Opera House.
