As Los Angeles prepares for the 86th Academy Awards, here in Aspen a local nonprofit is getting ready for its own fete the same night. Aspen Film returns to the Caribou Club March 2 with its exclusive live screening of the Oscars, including a red carpet runway, live auction and multi-course dinner.

Proceeds from the evening benefit the organization’s education programs and screenings in the Roaring Fork Valley. Over the holidays, Aspen Film showed these films, in strong contention for Oscar nomination including: 12 Years a Slave, Dallas Buyers Club, Her, Nebraska and Philomena. This year’s official Academy Award nominees will be announced on Jan. 16.

Hollywood’s Big Night at the Caribou Club runs 5 to 10 p.m. More information and tickets can be found at Aspen Film.
