The Juice: Erin Fetherston For Juicy Couture

News | April 22, 2010

The Juicy Couture tracksuit worn by everyone from college co-eds to Hollywood super stars in the early aughties is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. And it looks like the Liz-Claiborne-owned company is looking to freshen their image by bringing on Erin Fetherston as a guest designer.

Fetherston, who is from the Bay Area and studied at Parsons in Paris, has shown her eponymous label at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in recent seasons. Her super feminine collections have been scooped up by youthful girls across the country, and she was a hit for Target’s Go! International collection. But what can she bring to the uninspired label?

As their guest designer and creative consultant, we hear a big part of her position will be creating a “fresh and modern re-imagining” of the Juicy tracksuit. There will also be limited-edition pieces for Holiday 2010, and hopefully some flirty accessories.

Fetherston begins her role in May and is staying on through the holiday 2011 collection. We look forward to see how she updates the brand’s velour suits. Maybe what’s old will be new again.
