Tommy Hilfiger Brings the Beach to NYC for Fashion Week
Life’s a beach for Tommy Hilfiger! The 62-year-old fashion designer—and the cover star of our August/September Fashion issue—transformed Pier 94 into a California beach complete with sand dunes, surf boards, lifeguard chairs and tumbleweed for his New York Fashion Week runway show.
Celebrating the idea of “endless summer,” Hilfiger’s Spring 2014 Women’s collection captured iconic elements of California style, such as leather bomber jackets, sundresses, skinny pants and basketball jerseys with a modern and sporty vibe.
“Spring 2014 combines East Coast prep with West Coast ease,” explained Hilfiger. “From softly tailored denim and chambray to our signature Hawaiian prints to innovative neoprenebonded leather, the season captures the ease and youthful attitude of Cali style.”
And of course, no California lifestyle would be complete without the perfect swimsuit. Hilfiger unveiled a selection of sporty, yet sexy colorblocking swimwear perfect for lounging by the pool or diving into the depths of the ocean.
