Atlanta’s yearly music festival Music Midtown is coming up this month. The 2-day festival will take place in Piedmont Park on September 21 and 22nd and will feature over 30 artists. Festival Promotor Peter Conlon, the main person behind this yearly concert, announced that this year would be even better than ever. “We’ve worked really hard to lay out an eclectic mix of artists playing throughout Piedmont Park at all times,” said Peter Conlon of Live Nation in a press release.  “I’m really pleased how the schedule plays out and the addition of the third stage is very exciting.

This year’s diverse lineup features a great mix. Friday includes performances by Cake, Drivin N’ Cryin, Jane’s Addiction, Journey, North Mississippi Allstars, Phoenix, The Mowgli’s and 2 Chainz. Saturday, you can expect Red Hot Chili Peppers,  Arctic Monkeys, Capital Cities, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Mona, Queens of the Stone Age Reignwolf, Tegan & Sara, The Black Lips, The Neighbourhood, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Weezer,  and ZZ Ward.  Not bad for two days.

For any one who has been to Music Midtown over the years, you probably have different opinions. Starting in 1994,  Music Midtown became an annual tradition many people, including me. . After a few location changes, the concert ultimately died  only to come back a few years ago bigger and better than ever.  This year is no exception.  While general admission tickets will get you access to the concerts, it’s the expanded VIP options that really has us excited.

On sale now are the general VIP tickets, which are $250 per day or (my favorite) the Super VIP tickets which set you back $1000.  So what’s the difference? The general VIP gets you a VIP entrance into the venue, a private hospitality area with complimentary food and beverages and private air-conditioned restrooms.  The Super VIP is what we have our eyes set on, however. This exclusive package is limited to only 500 people, so act quickly if you want to experience the concert from the new double deck area at the main stage, a roped-off front viewing area near the main stage and a special viewing platforms near the 2nd and 3rd stage exclusive to Super VIP’s only. Additionally Super VIP tickets get you private indoor Hospitality area located at the Park Tavern, an all-you-can-eat menu, a  full open bar during the festival including a variety of food trucks, a private VIP entrance, Valet Parking and a Super VIP goodie bag including a poster and an event t-shirt.  There is no question that the Super VIP is the way to go for Music Midtown 2013.

Produced by Live Nation, Music Midtown is sponsored by Coors LIght, Dos Equis, Coca Cola, Red Bull, Bose, Dunkin Donuts, Citi American Family Insurance, W Atlanta- Midotwn, SweetWater Brewing Company, Jack Daniels, El Jimador and Rex Golith.
