Rocky Mountain Oyster Fest Returns to Aspen
Awww, shucks. Back by popular demand, the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival returns to the Ajax Tavern on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Of course, the event will include buffalo-style Rocky Mountain Oysters (not on the half shell) with blue-cheese dressing. But for those who aren’t brave enough enough to sample the festival’s namesake, all-you-can eat oysters in different styles–Rockefeller, baked with garlic and parsley, mini oyster po-boys, Island Creek Oysters with lemongrass veloute–will be served along with Tender Belly pork and Crystal River Farms lamb. Vegetarian? Try the salad bar which includes the tasty watermelon, buratta, pine nuts on heirloom tomatoes. And if that wasn’t enough, the ticket also gets attendees bottomless beer and wine.
The festival runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Ajax Tavern at the base of Aspen Mountain. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased here.
