Spiritual journeys are amazing especially in beautiful surroundings. Miami-based OmLuxe, a spiritually-oriented luxury travel collective that puts on group escapes that have participants doing downward dogs in far-flung destinations throughout the world. Their latest adventure takes place in Cambodia from November 9-15 and will benefit the Somaly Mam Foundation, a Cambodian-based foundation committed to ending sex slavery and helping survivors. OmLuxe was started by Jennifer Grace and Pamela Jones, a photographer who donates her work to Operation Smile and started yoga programs for women living with HIV. Lori Bell, The Standard’s acupuncturist and Director of Oriental medicine is also involved and will be leading both acupuncture and astrology sessions on the trip.
The package includes breakfasts and lunches, daily yoga and meditation workshops as well as fun classes like astrology, cooking and photography. Guided excursions to Ankgor Wat and Kampong Khleang Floating Village will make almost as many memories as the stay at the dreamy Navutu Dreams Resort & Spa.
“When I was first introduced to the work that Somaly Mam was doing, it really touched me and I knew I wanted to get involved somehow,” says Pamela Jones. “I am honored and humbled to now be taking 20 like minded woman to Cambodia to meet Somaly. Our goal is to raise $40,000 for the foundation. It is amazing what the power of woman helping woman can do. Register by July 30th for a discounted price to the retreat.
