Matthew Morrison Dedicates Song to Cory Monteith at NYC Concert
Matthew Morrison dedicated a song to his recently departed friend and Glee costar, Cory Monteith, during a concert at 54 Below in New York City on July 14.
“Matt came out before the show started and said, ‘We lost a great young man too soon,'” a source tells Us Weekly. “He said Cory was a beautiful person.”
Monteith was found dead at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver on July 13. To honor his memory, Morrison performed “What I Did for Love” from A Chorus Line. “He was very emotional on stage,” the source explained. “It was difficult for him to get up to perform, but he did not want to disappoint anyone.”
