Haute 100 NY Update: Mayor Bloomberg Names Two Streets After Baseball Legend Willie Mays
The city of New York is honoring baseball Hall of Famer, Willie Mays, by naming two uptown streets after him. Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently signed a bill to co-name St. Nicholas Pl. from 153rd St. to 155th St. “Willie Mays Place,” and Harlem River Dr. from 155th St. to 163rd St. “Willie Mays Drive.” Nicknamed “The Say Hey Kid,” Mays ended his career with 660 home runs.
