Carey Mulligan Leading Race to Play Hillary Clinton in Upcoming Biopic ‘Rodham’
Carey Mulligan is reportedly the producers’ top choice for the role of former First Lady Hillary Clinton in the upcoming indie drama, Rodham. The Great Gatsby star is leading the race ahead of other hopeful actresses, including Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Stone and Jessica Chastain, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will chronicle Clinton’s budding career before she became the First Lady, New York Senator and Secretary of State, and her early relationship with future husband, President Bill Clinton. Mulligan will soon sit down with director James Ponsoldt, both of whom “are eager for it to work.”
