Haute Event: Busta Rhymes Kicks Off the Return of Ditch Weekend at the Palms

Hip hop legend Busta Rhymes launched the return of “Ditch Weekend” in style at Palms Pool at the Palms on Friday afternoon. Sporting black Louis Vuitton aviator sunglasses, a Black Hermès tank top and jeans, the Grammy-nominated artist stopped to chit-chat about the Mayweather-Guerrero fight before heading into the packed hot spot.

“I want Floyd to win the fight and I want it to go a full 12 rounds.” said Busta. “I want to see Floyd fight Pacquiao before he retires. Keep winning so we can eventually have that moment.”

Thousands of Cinco de Mayo and Fight Weekend revelers sang along as the artist took to the crowd to perform hits including “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See,” “Look At Me Now” and “Pass the Courvoisier.”

The celebration ignited when the artist sprayed fans with Moët & Chandon champagne while performing his brand new club banger, “Twerk It.” Gorgeous bikini-clad guests rushed to the stage to show off their hottest dance moves, with Busta inviting a few lucky ladies up.

Before heading to his lavish VIP booth, where he was joined by Glen Davis of the Orlando Magic and former Minnesota Timberwolves player Rashad McCants, Busta took to the mic to say, “Every Ditch Friday pop off needs to be an annual Busta Rhymes event.”
