Secret Bar Opens Up in Costa Mesa

Pitfire Pizza co-owners Paul Hibler and David Sanfield will be opening a ‘secret’ bar called Pie Society, an exclusive backroom in the Costa Mesa Pitfire Pizza location.

According to LA Eater, the new bar will be a “cocktail bar/speakeasy hidden behind Pitfire Pizza.” Pie Society will offer a different menu from Pitfire, and although it will be accessible from a hidden sliding door through the main restaurant, there will also be a separate rear entrance. The sliding door is actually a wall that is disguised with kitchen shelving and other opens on the Pitfire Pizza side, which slides open to reveal the new bar. Sommyrhee.com reports that the back area used to be the pie oven belonging to former owner Marie Callender’s.

Currently, Pie Society is hiring bar staff in preparation for an anticipated May opening.
