Mile High Pop-Up Comes to London
Inspired by the golden age of air travel, Mile High is a 1950s-style pop-up restaurant guaranteed to be a feast for the all five of the senses. The night will start out by guests being greeted by air-hostesses in Pam Am-esque uniforms. Diners will enjoy check-in Campari cocktails before being swept away to their foodie destination. Not only will the pop-up source some of the best young chefs around, there will also be air travel giveaways, live performances and a bevy of talented guest DJs performing in the departure lounge.
The first stop on Mile High’s foodie journey is Gothenburg, Sweden. Chef Oliver Templeton, formerly of London’s Moro, will dish up a Scandinavian four-course feast. Departure lounge nibbles will include: Fresh Roe, Dark Rye Sourdough served with Smoked Reindeer and Pickles. And for the main course, think Pan-fried Scallops with Puréed Potato, Charred Spring Onions and Crispy Garlic, Chargrilled Elk with Golden Beetroot, Mushrooms, Dill and Cucumber Salad and Lingonberry Ice Cream with Carrot Cake Crumble and Licorice Meringue for dessert (a vegetarian menu is available).
Be sure and check out their website as other destinations coming to Mile High this summer are Beirut, Sicily and Mozambique in the fall. Tickets are £65 and include two cocktails and a four-course meal. £15 allows you entry into the departure lounge, one cocktail plus entertainment.
