MOCA Curator Rebecca Morse Heads to LACMA

The Museum of Contemporary Art’s associate curator Rebecca Morse will soon be starting her new position as associate curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. On February 1, Morse will replace Edward Robinson, leaving two curators, Alma Ruiz and Bennett Simpson at MOCA.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Morse’s upcoming departure from MOCA marks the fifth curator that has left the museum since 2009 when cost-cutting measures and layoffs were implemented following “a financial crisis and bailout by trustee Eli Broad.”
In her new position as LACMA’s associate curator, Morse will report to photography head Britt Salvesen. According to MOCA spokesperson Lyn Winter, “there are no plans right now to replace Morse.”
