Aspen Offers Sun Salutations to Warm Up for Skiing
For skiers and snowboarders who want a little downward dog before their double-black
diamonds, Aspen Skiing Co. offers free yoga classes. Taught by experienced professionals, the 60-minute yoga sessions take place at the top of Aspen Mountain inside the Sundeck, with breathtaking views of the the Elk Mountains as the backdrop.
Class starts at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through ski season. Riders must take the Silver Queen Gondola up the mountain, or hike up early enough to make class. SkiCo provides the yoga mats and space, and skiers can ditch their snowpants for long underwear before hitting the slopes.
For a true Ajax experience, ski straight to the mid-mountain restaurant Bonnie’s for oatmeal pancakes afterward.
