A new building is scheduled to soar over the New York skyline; 432 Park Avenue is the city’s future tallest skyscraper and while one day it will be 1,397 feet tall, it is currently a construction zone that is being recorded on real-time sky cameras.
The website for 432 Park Avenue features three real-time sky cams from different angles; one of 56th Street, one of 57th Street and one of Park Avenue. The website runs the live feed 24/7 and interested visitors can observe the day-to-day progress of what will one day be the city’s tallest skyscraper.
Developed by Macklowe Properties and CIM Group, the Raefel Vinoly-design building will cost $1 billion and condos are touted to be priced at $5,941 per square foot, according to New York Curbed, meaning the penthouse will cost “around $85 million”.
The live streaming of the site has been going on since September 2011 and New York Curbed reports the three “EarthCams” have only now been publicized. 432 Park Avenue’s site also includes various black and white photos by New York architect-turned-photographer Richard Berenholtz.
According to The New York Observer, a banner on the building’s site read: “One September 26th, 2011 Macklowe Properties and CIM Group began excavating the construction site for 432 Park Avenue. Simultaneously, we strategically installed three cameras overlooking the site so that our friends and supporters would be able to watch our extraordinary building take shape.”
