THR’s Most Powerful Women in Entertainment Breakfast

On Wednesday morning, Hollywood’s most powerful women were honored at The Hollywood Reporter’s 21 annual Women in Entertainment breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This special event pays homage to Hollywood’s leading ladies.

THR’s special publication on the 100 most powerful women in entertainment was just published, so it was only right to pay homage to all the successful women at this very special breakfast.

The guest list of honorees included  Disney / ABC TV President Anne Sweeney, A+E’s president of entertainment and media Nancy Dubuc, A+E chief Abbe Raven, Entertainment co-chair Amy Pascal, NBC Universal Cable chair Bonnie Hammer, Lisa Kudrow, Dreama Walker, Kathy Griffin, Molly Sims and many more.

Mindy Kaling kicked off the event with light jokes as she spoke about her admiration to Diane Keaton. Next on the stage was none other than THR editorial director Janice Min, who urged everyone to read the feature article entitled “If Women Ran Hollywood.”

Other phenomenal women hit the stage like Scandal’s very own star Kery Washington. The actress explained and introduced THR’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program. “Mentors are invaluable,” said Washington and she continued reading off the names of the mentors and mentees of this year.

But the big award of the day was the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award. The recipients of this tremendous award went to Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, Glenn Close, Jodie Foster, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren and Barbara Walters. One of the biggest moments of the event was when Diane Keaton took to the stage to be honored, prompting a standing ovation. While addressing the audience, Keaton said, “Our stories do strengthen our bond and I know that stories give us the value, and the value of listening is to help us recognize that every life matters.”

As guests exited the spectacular event, they were presented with gift bags that weighed 22-pounds. Each gift bag included gifts from BCBG, Taschen, Roberto Coin, Samsung White Glove Service, along with La Prairie spa products and gift cards, making this powerful event a great success.
