Viacom Announces Wade Davis as CFO

News | November 28, 2012

The former executive vp Wade Davis has officially been named Viacom’s new CFO, replacing Jimmy Barge who will be pursuing other opportunities, following the transitional period, according to a statement released by the company.

This by far is a great opportunity for Davis, 40, who is no stranger to the company. He has worked at Viacom for over ten years. Davis spent seven years as an executive vp of mergers and acquisitions, overseeing many successful acquisitions such as Dream Works SKG, Atom Shockwave and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Four years later, Davis then transitioned himself as executive vp of strategy and corporate development.

“This is a well-deserved promotion for Wade, who has made so many contributions to the growth and success of Viacom,” according to COO Thomas Dooley. “We are fortunate to have such a multitalented executive in our ranks with the leadership skills and the depth of experience to move seamlessly into the CFO role.”
